Reconocida por su labor de revalorización y datación de Caral.
Actualmente es catedrática de la postgrado de la Facultad de Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad Mayor de San Marcos.

The Sacred City of Caral, in Peru, is the testimony of one of the greatest civilizations of the world, Caral civilization created by the organized work of the people of the north-central area of Peru, a land of contrasting geographical settings. Many know Cuzco as the capital of the Inca Empire and Machu Picchu as the site of one of the last Inca, but few know that the Sacred City of Caral, was built by the first political state formed in Peru 4400 years before govern the Incas.
The Sacred City of Caral in the Supe River right bank, 350 m asl, in the province of Barranca, 184 km north of Lima on the Panamerican Highway North. Caral has been placed on value management, tenacious of Ruth Shady, an archaeologist of San Marcos, which was beyond words, to locate Caral, which is in the focus of world attention.
